Valve recently announced an update to the Engineer class in its popular “Team Fortress 2” (TF2) title. Valve noted that this is the largest single-class update it has made for the game. The download will introduce new maps, items and achievements among other things.

Valve also revealed that they will be issuing “Golden Wrenches” to TF2 players. Here’s a clipping from the press release:
“Every time Engineers “craft” (build) something in the game, they have a chance of getting a Golden Wrench. Every 25th Wrench awarded unlocks more info about the update.”

Valve latest zombie slaughter fest “Left 4 Dead 2” has shipped to retail outlets. The game is available on the PC and for the Xbox 360.
PC owners can purchase the game immediately through Valve’s digital distribution service STEAM for $49.99USD. The Xbox 360 version retails for $59.99USD.

Fraggers rejoice, Midway and Epic Games Officially Announce the FREE Titan Pack for Unreal Tournament 3
New maps. New units. New vehicles. New characters. The most content ever added to an FPS, and all for free! Midway and Epic Games have officially confirmed the Titan Pack is coming to “Unreal Tournament 3” for the PC and PlayStation3 March 5, 2009. This bonus content takes the award-winning shooter to a whole new level.
The Titan Pack introduces 11 new multiplayer maps for maps for Deathmatch, CTF, Vehicle CTF and Warfare modes, plus eight popular maps from the first UT3 bonus pack and Xbox 360 version. In addition, players will experience two new game modes: Greed mode, a “tug of war” style kill points battle, and Betrayal mode, a cutthroat style of play where alliances and teams can shift fluidly through a match.

The recently announced Left 4 Dead Downloadable Content (L4D DLC) will be delivered to Xbox 360 and PC gamers free of charge.
Due for release this spring, the DLC for 2008’s best-selling new game property on the PC and Xbox 360, is dubbed the L4D Survival Pack and introduces a new multiplayer game mode entitled, Survival, plus two complete campaigns for Versus Mode (Death Toll, Dead Air). A Critic’s Choice Edition of the game will be heading to retail stores this spring, and will include access to all the content introduced in the L4D: Survival Pack.
Left 4 Dead is a survival action game from Valve that blends the social entertainment experience of multiplayer games such as Counter-Strike and Team Fortress with the dramatic, narrative experience made popular in single player action game classics such as the Half-Life series of games. Released in November of 2008, L4D has earned over 25 industry awards from outlets around the world.
