Xbox 360 Canadian Console Price Drop

Microsoft announced today that they will be reducing the cost of the Xbox 360 in Canada. The Xbox Pro bundle will be reduced from $399 to $349, the Xbox 360 Elite will go from $499 to $449, while the Xbox 360 Arcade will now retail for $279. Gamers can now also pickup the Xbox 360 Halo 3 Special edition console for $399.

Gears of War 2 Officially Announced

Microsoft and Epic Games revealed today that the highly anticipated sequel to “Gears of War” will be released exclusively on the Xbox 360 in Nov. 2008. The announcement was made at the end of Microsoft’s GDC keynote as Epic Games lead designer Cliff Bleszinski stepped on the stage and showcased the first teaser trailer for “Gears of War 2.” See below:

The trailer is also available for download via Xbox Live.

Xbox 360 owners can log into their live account and download a free dashboard theme along with some gamer pictures. As noted previously, Gears of War 2 is slated for a Nov. ’08 release.

N+ Revealed as the Latest XBLA Title

Microsoft unveiled today that “N+” will be this week’s addition to the Xbox Live Arcade Library (XBLA). Here’s a blurb from the press release:

“In the enhanced version of the original game “N,” players take on the persona of a ninja who must use deft acrobatic actions to battle robots in the futuristic world of “N+.” Play as a lone ninja or destroy the robots with a friend in Cooperative, Survival or Race modes using local or Internet co-op via Xbox LIVE. “N+” boasts 2-D Ragdoll physics with incredibly styled next-generation graphics for an intense visual experience. With unlimited lives, over 300 levels to master and a built-in level editor for when you crave more, the gold-searching and robot-smashing adventures are seemingly endless! “

The game will set you back 800 Microsoft points, and will be available Wed. Feb. 20 at 9:00 a.m. EST.
