Spore Now Available

Will Wright’s latest gaming masterpiece “Spore” is now available at retail outlets in North America. The main Spore title can be purchased for either the Mac or PC, while the spin-off titles “Spore Creatures” and “Spore Origins” are available for the Nintendo DS and iPhone/iPod Touch respectively. The game is rated “E” for Everyone.

No word on the once rumored Nintendo Wii version.

Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise Now Available

Microsoft Game Studios and Rare’s “Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise” for the Xbox 360 is now available at retail. The first sequel to the critically acclaimed Viva Pinata franchise retails for $39.99. New features include local and online co-op modes (up to four players) and Xbox Live Vision integration among other things. The game is rated “E” for Everyone.

Xbox 360 Price Cuts

Microsoft’s Xbox 360 became the first console of this gaming generation to be sold for under $200 as new pricing schemes were introduced yesterday. With the latest price cuts, the Xbox 360 Arcade, Pro and Elite SKUs now retail at $199.99, $299.99 and $399.99 respectively.

It will be interesting to see whether or not Nintendo and Sony responds to these price cuts and lower the prices of their respective consoles.

The iPhone OS version PopCap Games‘ highly addictive “Peggle” is available for $0.99 through the iTunes App Store. The catch is that you have until midnight on June 14 to make the purchase. Be warned though, you might have a hard time doing anything else but play Peggle on your iPhone/iPod Touch.
