Another rumour that started making its rounds on the internet concerns a supposed major change to Game Pass Ultimate, the removal of day-one releases . According to a leaker, Microsoft will be removing day-one releases from its highest-paid tier and reducing the cost of the service. As the rumour persisted, an Xbox spokesperson addressed it with Forbes by simply stating that they “ regularly test different Game Pass offerings and look at what works best for players in different markets, ” then indicated that they had nothing to announce today and that there were currently no changes to day-one games for Game Pass Ultimate. From my understanding, Game Pass came to be as a way to disrupt the industry, sell consoles, and ensure that Xbox service wasn’t eclipsed by a competitor .
